This is me

I'm a semi-retired nurse teacher and now I have time for more frivolous projects. Such as this one!

I've owned a Nikon DSLR camera for several years and I enjoy trying to take a good photograph using the camera controls rather than editing software such as Photoshop. I'd say I'm just about proficient, but it's a hobby, not my life.

I'm also a grandmother, mum and wife. My husband will sometimes need to be my assistant in this project, I hope he's up for it! We live in a beautiful part of Southern England and are very lucky to have a balcony with a fabulous view.

I suspect that women photographers, particularly of my age (60s), would have been few and far between in the 1920s, but that must have  changed as time went on. In the future I'd also like to find out how to do astrophotography - I have the telescope and the camera but so far great photos haven't happened.
